Diesel exhaust liquid is used to break down the nitrogen compounds in the engine into water and nitrogen. Another group of additives is anti-gelling additives which help in liquefying of solidified gel and paraffin wax. The presence of solidified gel and paraffin wax leads to weak cold starting performance.
